Abu joined Chambers after successfully completing his pupillage under supervision of former Head of Chambers, Mr Chris Gibbons.
Abu worked for a "Chambers UK Top Ranked Solicitors” including a Legal 500 Midland firm before joining Chambers. He was a Law Society accredited senior caseworker for Immigration and Asylum law. Abu has previously worked for the Ministry of Justice and Birmingham City Council.
Abu is a regular practitioner in the IAC First Tier and Upper Tribunal. His expertise includes asylum and private immigration, revocation of nationality, protection and deportation appeals, entry clearance for children and families, family reunion, in-country family, and dependant relatives appeal, EU rights, disability and care-related cases, long residence, Article 3 medical cases, nationality and right of abode matters and judicial review.
Abu’s Private Family practice involves representing clients on applications for non-molestation orders, occupation orders and private law child arrangement orders. Abu regularly appears in the Family Court representing clients in directions hearings, fact-finding hearings and contested hearings.
Abu is accepting instructions in all aspects of civil cases including TOLATA, Landlord & tenant (non-residential), Landlord & tenant (residential), Public Law, appeals against civil penalties and in employment law, in cases of unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, disability and racial discrimination.
Abu is chambers designated pupil supervisor.
Direct Access: Abu is authorised to accept instructions directly from members of the public.
Scholarship: Abu was awarded Harmsworth Scholarship in 2010 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
